This collection draws an analogy between the mating rituals in nature and human dating behaviours. It explores the beauty of bird courtship seasons, presenting the different stages of the spring ritual in birds as analogous to human rituals. The behaviours exhibited by birds during mating season—disguise, display, observation, and choice—mirror the complexities of human courtship.
'The Collectors' is about humanity’s innate drive to collect—to gather objects, memories, and experiences as a way to make sense of the world around us. This impulse, often born from a desire to impose order on chaos, reflects a deeper yearning for control and permanence in an ever-changing reality. My paintings playfully explore this theme, using the Collectors as a metaphor for our own tendencies. Through stylized, surreal representations of cosmic entities gathering both tangible relics and intangible essences, I invite viewers to reflect on the balance between creation, obsession, and the beauty found in the act of letting go.
This collection explores the connection between nature and spirituality through a series of wooden objects. Inspired by nature and temples from various traditions, these sculptures serve as modern interpretations of shrines and portable sanctuaries. Each piece evokes a sense of tranquillity and simplicity, encouraging viewers to take a moment for reflection.
